Mindful Learners

Research has shown engaging in expressive arts creates positive changes in the brain and can often be a liferaft for individuals with learning differences. Expressive arts mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpting, or creative movement foster the expression of thoughts, emotions, and dreams without feeling the need or pressure to perform. Research has shown that artistic expression can help foster mindfulness, a relaxation response, executive functioning skills, critical thinking, communication, and confidence.

Sage Learning Solutions embraces the importance of the mind-body connection in helping students learn essential self-regulation skills and is proud to incorporate the Unyte Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) developed by Stephen Porges with expressive arts into its educational offerings. The SSP and brief expressive arts activities may be woven into educational therapy sessions or expressive arts classes may be offered as individual and group stand-alone sessions.
